Spectral Evolution in Fiber Lasers With Soliton Self-Frequency Shift Effect

نویسندگان

چکیده

The generation and evolution process of red shifting in a ultrafast fiber laser with the soliton self-frequency shift are investigated by numerical simulation. And effect different parameters including pump strength, length dispersion fiber, modulation depth saturable absorber initial field on analyzed for first time to our knowledge. By optimizing these parameters, maximum beyond laser's gain bandwidth is obtained. In addition, within narrow parameter range, we have also achieved novel red-shift period-doubling bifurcated periodic switching central wavelength.

Effect of frequency chirp on soliton spectral sidebands in fiber lasers.

Fiber lasers emit soliton pulses that exhibit discrete spectral sidebands generated through dispersive-wave resonances. The position of these soliton sidebands is shown to be affected by the amount of chirp acquired by the pulse, and the degree of chirp is determined by total cavity losses and gain dispersion. Our results show that the soliton chirp shifts the sideband frequencies and that side...

Stable soliton in the fiber-optic system with self-frequency shift

We show that when narrowband filtering and nonlinear gain are considered, long-distance propagation of stable pulses in a fiber-optic system can be realized in the presence of self-frequency shift. We analyze the system by using the perturbative approach and obtain steady-state solutions and their existence conditions. The steady-state solutions are studied by linear stability analysis. Typical...

Soliton trapping in fiber lasers.

We report on the soliton trapping in a fiber ring laser modelocked with a SESAM. It was observed that solitons along the two orthogonal polarization directions of the cavity with fairly large difference in central frequency and energy could be coupled together to form a group velocity locked vector soliton. In particular, due to that each of the coupled solitons forms its own soliton sidebands,...

Soliton self-frequency shift: Self-similar solutions and their stability.

Ultrashort pulse propagation in fibers is affected by intrapulse Raman scattering (IRS) which causes both a linear frequency downshift and a quadratic displacement of the peak pulse, as functions of the propagation distance. This effect has been known and treated by perturbation methods applied to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation since the period of intense research on soliton propagation. He...
